The Princess on Portland Hotel is a grade II listed building that lies on the corner of Portland Street and Princess Street in the Heart of Manchester City Centre. The building was constructed in 1870 and the grand façade of this former textile warehouse has remained largely unchanged although the building was converted into a hotel in 1982. Due to the nature of the warehouse design the rooms created are spacious and filled with light from the large windows that surround each floor level. An internal re-furbishment programme is planned to commence in February 2009 , the interior design proposals for this scheme will reflect the external grandeur of the building. We aim to discover and expose as many original features, columns and ceilings as possible to allow the building to be closer to its original incarnation.
